Signings and Revised Cover Art
Announcement the First: I’ll be at Schuler Books in Okemos tonight starting at 7:00, where I’ll be reading, chatting, and signing books. If you’re seeing this, it means you’re invited and should immediately DROP ALL OTHER PLANS and get out there!
Announcement the Second: On Friday, I’ll be at Festibooks, as part of the Ann Arbor Art Festival, along with folks like Tobias Buckell, Saladin Ahmed, Sarah Zettel, and more.
Announcement the Third: Eventually, my books will go out of print, at which point I intend to get them posted for sale as e-books. So I was thinking about cover art, and came up with the following new redesign scheme. What do you think?

You just made Talia one hundred times sexier. Damn you!

I can’t help but agree with Kathryn.

Love those covers! And it is so, so true what Kathryn and Sean said about Talia…

::Grin::
If I was really good at Photoshop, I would have had Talia dual-wielding two different colored lightsabers…

Well, of course Lightsabers make everything better.
Yes, even Star Wars Episodes 1 through 3. Without Lightsabers those movies would have been completely unwatchable. With lightsabers, they were bearable the first few times… especially, of course, the lightsaber duels…

I actually find the first three movies to be fun. Of course, I use the Fast Forward button a *lot* to get to the good bits, most of which do involve lightsabers…

Well, you may want to take the DAW logo off, should it come to that.

Picky, picky…
Next you’ll be telling me to actually contact the artists for permission before releasing my own books 🙂

As Stephen said, lightsabers, just like zombies, make everything better.

CCRRAAAPPP!!!!
I saw the notice for your book signing when the family and I were stocking up on beach reading a couple weeks ago and knew I should have added it to the calendar! Sorry to miss you, but I hope the signing went great! Have to try and meet you at some future one. How’s Thursday looking? 😉

Not a problem 🙂
Let’s see, Thursday I’ve got karate, but I’ll be in Ann Arbor doing selling and signing books on Friday! And also on Tuesday, as it turns out…

*sigh* And I see this on Saturday. 😛
Tuesday? Where on Tuesday?
With Borders now sadly out of the picture, and a firm & unshakeable allergy to B&N, I now have no place to get my Snow Queen fix in person.
Safe Journeys! :>

Kyool!! Just found it. Thought they’d gone out too, with all the other Ann Arbor independents that have bit it over the last several.
Glad to see there IS still a local alternative. :>
C’ya Tuesday! :>

Yep, Nicola’s is still around, and I’m not aware of any immediate danger that they’ll vanish. See you there!

Honestly now: is there any reason whatsoever not to use that cover art for the Stepsister Scheme e-book? I mean, really think about it: any reason at all, other than that it’s a fraud in that there really aren’t lightsabers in the book?
I for one would buy the ebook, even though I already own the print copy, just for the cover.
Oh wait. I might be forgetting something. George Lucas might sue the BEJEEZUS out of you for that. Do you have a legal department? Talk toy our legal department, and if they give you the thumbs-up, I say you HAVE to do it.

Yeah, legal department or no, I think I’d wake up one morning to find a squadron of Lucas’ best Stormtroopers outside my front door…

I really think that Talia would grip her lightsaber(s) in a reversed manner, ‘cos she follows the Rule of Cool. Danielle, well, she wouldn’t even need a safe place to grip; her lightsaber cannot harm her. Maybe she summons it up out of nowhere.
Oh wait, that requires actual story revision. *handwaves it away* These are not the revisions you’re looking for.
