Amen and hallelujah.
I have a theory that it’s neither love nor hope nor joy that makes for great art, but fear. And not existential fear or abstract fear, but good ol’ fashioned “if I don’t finish this on time the landlord will move my stuff to the dumpster” or “the mob boss will break my kneecaps to cover my gambling debts” kind of fear. Sucks for artists, but great for art consumers.

This is even more true for me today than it normally is. I’ve been substituting anthology submissions and chocolate peanut butter cups for actual writing.

Really?
Because my muse totally has a gun aimed at me all the time… although the words are different: “Step away from the PC slowly. What are you doing? Don’t even think about it! You… you’re going to dance around the room like a maniac again, aren’t you – I can tell by your eyes. STAY AWAY FROM ME!! #BLAM# DAMMIT!!! #BLAM, BLAM, BLAM# STAY STILL, DAMMIT!!!!!”
People think I am brain-damaged – They may just be right! Lalalalala…

Are we waiting on approval for the new design? I just looked at the Zazzle link and didn’t see this design there.

The store might need a few minutes to update, but the direct links to the shirt and mug should work. If they don’t, please let me know.

They do! I must have used the general like to your Zazzle store, instead of the specifics. The mug looks great! I might need to add one of those to my cupboards…
However, right this moment, while I’ve got you on the line, I’d like to know if Goblin Tales on BN.com is DRM-free? A negative answer won’t keep me from buying it, per se, but I much prefer it that way.
Thanks, Jim! Keep on being awesome! Maybe someday soon you’ll roll into the central Ohio area!

Goblin Tales is DRM-free at B&N and everywhere else.
I was actually in Columbus last year for World Fantasy Con. Don’t know when I’ll be back to Ohio, but I’ve no doubt I’ll get there sooner or later.

Figures! That was before I discovered you! I look forward to meeting you someday.
Thanks for answering my question. Me and my credit card will just go over there…looking for our Jig and Smudge fix…if you’ll excuse me! =)

well, at Millennicon in Cincinnati we filled out a lot of surveys that asked for GoH suggestions ——– let’s just say that your name came up a few times . You do get along with Resnick, right?

Hm … which Resnick? 🙂 (I can think of very few folks in the field I don’t get along with, and neither Resnick is on that list.)

Another related muse comic. This is from Oglaf (most of the site is NSFW), but this one is only slightly naughty.
